Abstract:
PURPOSE:To ensure searching at a high speed and with high accuracy in response to a search input, by making use of a damper effect of a negative feedback loop to realize a sudden stop of a motor. CONSTITUTION:A photodetecting element 11, a discriminator 17, a mixer 18, a current amplifier 19 and a DC reversible motor 5 form a negative feedback loop. Thus a damping effect is obtained to the motor 5. In a search mode a switch 25 is turned on, and a tracking error signal is earthed. At the same time, a search input of positive or negative voltage is applied to a terminal 26 which is usually set at 0V. This search input is supplied to a mixer 23. As a result, the motor 5 is turned at a high speed and in a prescribed direction to move at a stretch a magnetic head up to a prescribed track of a disk. Then the motor 5 is stopped instantaneously when the search input is reset at 0V.
