Abstract:
PURPOSE:To decrease the burst errors by storing the information read out of an ID area where the address information on plural sectors having the prescribed relative positional relations with divided sectors into a prescribed place and then referring to said stored address information as necessary. CONSTITUTION:The address information on sectors include the track numbers and sector numbers and these logic tracks are concentric with each other. Thus a recording/reproducing head 6 scans repetitively the same logic track. Therefore the next sector address can be fixed from the track number included in the ID information and the next sector number as long as said ID information is read at a certain sector owing to a fact that the track number of the next sector is equal to that of the present sector. Then a recording/reproducing control means 3 sends the fixed next sector address to an ID memory means 10. Thus the sector addresses can be recognized just by reading the useful information in one of plural ID areas where the sector address information are recorded. As a result, the high reliability is secured for the recognition of addresses as well as burst errors.
