Abstract:
PURPOSE:To recover a polymer improved in hue, transparency and heat stability from a wet polymer by adding an amine compound to the wet polymer and dewatering and drying the mixture. CONSTITUTION:The solvent is removed from a polymer solution obtained by polymerizing a polymerizable monomer (e.g. butadiene) in a hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of a chlorinated compound catalyst (e.g. TiCl4) by steam stripping to obtain a wet polymer. 0.005-1 pt.wt. amine compound (e.g. diethanolamine) is added to 100 pts.wt. wet polymer, and the resulting mixture is dewatered and dried.
