Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a rectangular bottle made of plastic wherein residual strain is constant, dimensional stability on deformation, contraction, inflation, etc., are excellent little, dispersion occurs in wall thickness, and it is economically excellent by a method wherein a thickness at each height of a trunk is specified.
CONSTITUTION: A relation of a thickness (y) at each position excepting a bottle top stopper part to mean thickness (x) in a horizontal direction is as given in the formula. In polyethylene terephthalate resin used as raw material, intrinsic-viscosity [η] (a value measured at 25°C in O-chlorophenol) is generall 0.6-1.5dl/g and preferably 0.7-1.2l/g. Further, a melting point measured with a differential scanning calorimeter(DSC) is generally 210°C-265°C and preferably 220°C-260°C.
