Abstract:

To provide a red pigment derived from a petal of edible chrysanthemum capable of being utilized for dyeing.

The red pigment composition contains the following (a) or (b): (a) an extract obtained by extracting the red petal of the edible chrysanthemum having the red petal using a solution containing a 2-4C aliphatic carboxylic acid, and its dried solid or (b) a suspension obtained by crushing the red petal of the chrysanthemum having the red petal in a solution containing a 2-4C aliphatic carboxylic acid, and its dried solid.
