Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a compound useful as a hydrogenation catalyst by forming a molecular structure which is based on platinum and/or palladium and in which a complex anionic compound of both metals is fixed on an ammonium- group-containing organopolysiloxane support via an ionic bond.
CONSTITUTION: There is provided a reduced platinum and/or palladium containing polymeric organopolysiloxane-ammonium compound comprising units of formula I and treated with a reducing agent at a total pressure of 1-300 bar and at a temperature of -100 to 350°C. In formula I, R1, R2 and R3 are each a group of formula II (R5 is a 1-12C alkylene or the like) and may be the same or different from each other; R4 is the same as R1, R2 or R3 or is hydrogen, a 1-10C alkyl or the like; Yx- is PtCl42-, PtBr42-, PbCl42-, PdBr42- or the like or is a mono- to trivalent inorganic or organic anion (e.g. halogenide) of an inorganic or organic proton acid being in the state forming a stable salt with an amine base or hydroxyl; and x is an integer of 1-3.
