Abstract:
To provide a reed for high-speed looms, comprising reed blades, suitable for diversified types of fibers (e.g. natural and synthetic fibers, and fibers of new materials) and improved in durability and resistance to wear.
This reed for high-speed looms comprises a number of reed blades, with a thin plate of metal (e.g. stainless steel) as the base 24, parent blades on both right and left sides, and a pair of edge metals on the upper and lower ends for each reed blade, wherein the reed blade which is adjacent to the parent blade and arranged orderly one by one towards the reed center is coated with a diamond-like film 28 via an intermediate layer 26, at least for the section containing the portion which would be otherwise worn most severely.
