PURPOSE: To fix automatically a tape reel by providing a toggle mechanism including plural press members to press the inner circumference surface of a tape reel and therefore actuating the toggle mechanism with the press members and at the same time having a contact by pressing between the press member and the inner circumfernce surface of the tape reel.

CONSTITUTION: A magnetic tape reel 18 is inserted between collects 13 and 13', and a contact by pressing is secured between the inner circumference edge of the reel 18 and the reference surface C of the collect 13. Then the reel 18 is pressed toward D, and shafts 15 and 15' are turned on the basis of pins 17 and 17'. Then the rear side of the collet 13 touches the reference surface of a housing 11 and fixed there. Thus the collet 13 moves so that its outer fringe part G is pressed to the inner circumference surface H of the reel 18. Then the reel 18 is held by the housing 11. In this case, the collet 13 receives no force to the direction where it is pushed out to the front direction E by the reaction to the reel 18.
