A reflection type liquid crystal display device is provided with a liquid crystal layer 3, a front base body layer 5 and a rear base body layer 1 which are arranged on both principal faces of the liquid crystal layer, and a composite layer 2 which is supported by the rear base body layer 1 and has a function to reflect external light from the side of the front base body layer 5 and a function to drive pixels. The composite layer 2 includes conductive bus lines 22' which supply voltage to drive the pixels and are arranged like a lattice. The bus lines 22' are made of materials having a low optical reflectivity.
