To provide a reflector for a direct backlight of a liquid crystal display device capable of reducing or eliminating luminance irregularity with a relatively simple structure by effectively utilizing reflection light that was ineffective in the past.
This reflector for a direct backlight is arranged behind a plurality of light sources for illuminating a liquid crystal display panel, and reflects light from the light sources toward the liquid crystal display panel. The reflector for a direct backlight of a liquid crystal display device is characterized in that the reflector is slantly arranged above the light source adjacent thereto from an area between the light sources; a folded part at a predetermined angle is formed at its end; light emitted from the light source is reflected on the folded part formed above the light source adjacent thereto; and the reflected light is reflected toward the liquid crystal display panel.
