Title:
REFORMER FOR FUEL CELL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS6340701
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make the whole of the title reformer compact and to reduce the number of parts by separating the evaporator of the reformer into an evaporation part and a superheating part, communicating both parts at the bottom, and integrating the superheating part with the evaporator.

CONSTITUTION: The inside of the evaporator of the fuel reformer is separated by a partition wall 21 extending from the upper surface to the bottom surface into the evaporation part 1a and the superheating part 1b, and both parts are communicated by a communicating port 22. The gaseous fuel supplied from a supply pipe 3 is discharged into the vaporation part 1a from a discharge pipe 5 of an annular distribution pipe 4, evaporated therein, superheated in the superheating part 1b, introduced into a reactor 8, and then introduced to a collecting chamber 11 as the gas reformed in a catalyst bed 9 and consisting essentially of hydrogen. Besides, the heating gas generated in a burner 2 is used for the evaporation at the evaporation part 1a and superheating in the superheating part 1b, then sent to the central part of a heating space 7 from a central passage 20, and discharged to the outside from an exhaust port 18 through a multistage communicating pipe 16, a heating passage 14, a communicating port 17, and an exhaust passage 15 while heating the reactor 8.
