Title:
REFORMING OF HYDROCARBON RAW MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2704185
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably raise the usability of a zeolite-based metal-containing catalyst and carry out the reforming by bringing a hydrocarbon raw material into contact with a specific activated catalyst under converting conditions.
SOLUTION: A hydrocarbon raw material is brought into contact with an activated catalyst under converting conditions when reforming the hydrocarbon raw material and providing an aromatic substance. The catalyst is activated by initially carrying out a drying step for heating a wet catalyst containing (A) a zeolite (preferably zeolite L) and (B) a metallic oxide or a metallic oxide composite (preferably the one comprising platinum in one or more kinds of group VIII metals) dispersed in pores of the component A during the contact of a gas with the catalyst, limiting the heat input speed for the catalyst so as to keep the dispersion state of the component B even after the heating step, further limiting the production rate of formed water and performing the drying and then carrying out a reducing step for reducing the component B of the dried catalyst.
