To improve the stable spalling resistance of cast refractory itself by optimizing a particle size constitution in a raw material useful for a refractory for casting.
In a casting material comprising a fine particle part composed of particles having <1 mm particle diameter and a coarse particle part composed of particles having 1-15 mm in the weight ratio of the coarse particle part/the fine particle part of 35/65-70/30. The coarse particle part is constituted of three kinds of particle group of 10-15 mm particle diameter, 5 to <10 mm particle diameter and 1 to <5 mm particle diameter. The amount of the particles having 1 to <5 mm particle diameter in the whole coarse particle part is made to 10-80 wt.% and the weight ratio of th particles having 10-15 mm particle diameter/the particles having 5 to <10 mm particle diameter of the rest is adjusted to 1/5-3/1.
