PURPOSE: To enable a uniform divided flow of refrigerant to be attained by a method wherein a refrigerant flow divider is comprised of a cylindrical contained composed of a pair of container segments and a flow-in pipe fitted to a flow-in pipe insertion hole, having its extreme end being abutted against the other container segment and having a recessed part with a small area of a flow-out port, and a plurality of flow-out pipes inserted into flow-out pipe insertion holes, connected while the insertion extreme ends being contacted with a lower surface of the cylindrical container and having a recessed part at a central part of the cylindrical container at the insertion end thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A refrigerant flow divider 1 is made such that a cylindrical container 2a having flow-out pipe insertion holes 7 at its upper surface and a cylindrical container 2b having a flow-in pipe insertion hole 6 at its lower surface are overlapped to each other and then connected at a welding part 2c. A recessed part 9 is formed at a central part of the cylindrical container 2a at an end part of each of the flow-out pipes 4 so as to act as a passage for refrigerant. The refrigerant flow divider 1 is operated such that a mixing of gaseous refrigerant and liquid refrigerant is promoted at the recess 8 in the flow-in pipe 3 and then a separation of the gaseous lifrigerant and liquid refrigerant is restricted. Each of the flow-in pipe 3 and the flow-out pipes 4 is inserted into and connected until they reach the cylindrical containers 2a and 2b, thereby it is not necessary to adjust a margin of insertion and then their connection can easily be performed. With such an arrangement, a uniform flow dividing can be carried out and a flow dividing property can be made stable.
