Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an economic, reliable, and portable device for purifying recovered refrigerant which can be operated easily by providing a filtrating/ drying means for removing moisture from a passing refrigerant.
CONSTITUTION: Connecting members 158 and 168 are attached to a storage container 50. Then valves 48, 56, 156, and 166 are released. When electric power is impressed upon a liquid pump 142 through a power switch 174 hereupon, a liquid is withdrawn from the lower section of the container 50 and returned to the container through a gas inlet port 49 after being circulated through a filtrating/drying unit 148 and the pump 142. This process is continued until a moisture indicator 164 displays that all moisture is removed from a refrigerant and, at the moment the indicator 164 makes the display, the operation is terminated and the container 50 is separated. When the container 50 is separated, the refrigerant in the container 50 is ready to be reused for refilling a refrigerating system.
