PURPOSE: To enable stabilized refrigerant flow rate control over a wide operation range by providing a fuzzy inference processor that incorporates a control rule, computes an open manipulated variable of a motor-driven expansion valve and outputs the calculated value.
CONSTITUTION: A differential temperature of refrigerant during refrigerant cycling is detected with refrigerant differential temperature detectors 6 and 7. On the other hand, a control rule about an open manipulated variable of motor driven-expansion value 3 based on an experience rule is stored in advance in a memory device 11 of a control device 5 in an attempt to correspond with information about the refrigerant differential temperature. A fuzzy inference processor 10 incorporates information about refrigerant differential temperature from the detection means 7 and 8 and a control rule equivalent to the information from a memory device 11. From these two pieces of information, the processor computes an open manipulated variable to be given to the motor-driven expansion valve 3 and outputs. It is, therefore, possible to carry out stabilized refrigerant flow rate control over a wide operation range by computing the open manipulated variable of the motor-driven expansion valve 3 based on the control rule obtained from the rule of experience.
