A refrigeration cycle device has a first refrigeration cycle (110, 120) having a first heat exchanger used for exchanging heat with a heat source, a second refrigeration cycle (120, 220) having a second heat exchanger used for exchanging with heat medium, and a cascade heat exchanger (112, 212) exchanging heat between the first refrigeration cycle and the second refrigeration cycle, stability of a temperature state of the heat medium can be enhanced because the refrigeration cycle device can be rapidly restored to a state before operation is stopped when restarting by suppressing uniformization of temperatures in the cascade heat exchanger, by stopping a second compressor (121, 221) driving the second refrigeration cycle ( 120, 220) and the first compressor (121, 221) driving the first refrigeration cycle (110, 210) in series when temporarily stopping the refrigeration cycle device.
