In this refrigerating device with the vapor compression type refrigerating machine X and the absorption type refrigerating machine Y, a solution that flows in the absorber 12 of the absorption type refrigerating machine Y is supercooled by a supercooling heat exchanger 15 and caused to flow in the absorber 12, while heat exchange is enabled between the refrigerant of the vapor compression type refrigerating machine X and the solution in the generator 11 of the absorption type refrigerating machine Y. Moreover, in the refrigerant circuit of the vapor compression type refrigerating machine X, a bypass passage 75 bypassing the generator 11 and connected to the evaporator 13 of the absorption type refrigerating machine Y, is arranged, and a solenoid valve 45 is arranged there. This solenoid valve 45 is opened when the cooling operation is performed in the vapor compression type refrigerating machine X, and moreover, when the temperature of the refrigerant of the inlet of the bypass passage 75 is below a set temperature. Thus, an excessive decrease in the temperature of the refrigerant can be prevented. Furthermore, the valve is closed when the temperature is at the set temperature or more. Thus, the waste heat of the refrigerant of the vapor compression type refrigerating machine X can be used for the driving heat source of the generator 11.
