Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a refrigerator oil containing esters of pentaerythritol with specific carboxylic acids as main components, not having crystallizability at low temperatures, having a high viscosity, a high electric insulating property and an excellent handling property, and suitable for large air conditioning installations, etc.
CONSTITUTION: The refrigerator oil contains as a main component esters of (A) pentaerythritol with (B) carboxylic acids comprising 3, 5, 5-trimethylhexanoic acid and a 6-8C linear or branched aliphatic acid such as 2-ethylhexanoic acid, the amount of the 3, 5, 5-trimethylhexanoic acid being ≥60mol.% in the mixed carboxylic acids.
