Latent heat of vaporization of an evaporator 53 is circulated through the heat insulating chambers 31 by a freezing chamber fan 54, and further the quantity of cold air circulated by a mechanical damper 34 detecting the temperature of the heat insulation chamber 31 is controlled to keep the temperature of the heat insulating chamber 31 constant, whereby the temperature of food in the heat insulating chamber case 32 can be kept constant to improve the freshness retention of food.
