To provide a refrigerator capable of keeping freshness of food by preventing evaporation of moisture from foods such as vegetable, and dispensing with a heater for a defrosting operation by preventing degradation of performance of a cooler caused by frost formation found when the evaporated moisture flows to the cooler.
In this refrigerator 1, the air (return air) flowing out from a refrigerating compartment 100 moves down through a back face of a selective compartment 400, and returns to the cooler 11 through a return air trunk of the back face of the vegetable compartment 300 optionally through the vegetable compartment 300. A flowing in/out port of the vegetable compartment 300 is provided with a desiccant rotor 19 for adsorbing and desorbing the moisture, and a heater 24 is disposed at its upstream. The desiccant rotor 19 humidifies the air flowing into the vegetable compartment 300 through a desorption side and dehumidifies the air flowing out from the vegetable compartment 300 through the desorption side.
