To solve problems that as turning-on and turning-off of a lighting system are repeated every opening and closing of a door of a refrigerator, and turning-on and turning-off of a light Ag lighting system are repeated, visibility and lighting quality are poor, and power consumption in opening the door is increased as a lighting time is rather long.
In this refrigerator, lighting by the lighting system using a mounting board on which a light emitting diode emitting the light of a wavelength within a visible light ray area is mounted, and lighting by a light Ag lighting system using a mounting board on which a light Ag light emitting diode for turning on and off the light in a refrigerating compartment is mounted are performed when the door of the refrigerator is opened, in a manner that the motion for gradually turning on and then turning off the light emitting diode and the light Ag light emitting diode, and gradually turning off and then turning on the same thereafter is repeated, when the opening state of the door is detected by a door opening/closing detecting means.
