Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of parts by providing an illumination control means for turning on or flickering an illumination means when a compressor is stopped without providing an exclusive operation switch for turning on and off the illumination means.
SOLUTION: An operation panel 28 comprising a set switch 26 and a liquid crystal display device 24 and a LED illuminating the liquid crystal display device 24 from a rear side are connected to a controller 30. Besides a first control for turning on the LED upon a detection of open signal of each of door switches 14b, 16b, 18b, 20b, 22b by the controller 30 and a second control for turning on the LED for a specified time upon an operation of the set switch 26 of the operation panel 28, the controller 30 turns on or flickers the LED to inform a user of the case wherein a component of a refrigerator 10 happens to fail or the controller itself falls into an uncontrollable state, such as when a compressor 48 is stopped or the like.
