PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator that can be prevented from stopping suddenly and has high reliability, by controlling it to suppress the temperature increase of a worm head before a stirling freezer is stopped according to the phenomenon that the temperature of the worm head of the stirling freezer exceeds a reference temperature. SOLUTION: When the temperature Th of the worm head of the stirling freezer 30 exceeds the reference temperature Th1, a control part 86 of the refrigerator 1 maximizes the rotation speed of a radiation fan 53, maximizes the output of a circulating pump 61, and minimizes the output of the stirling freezer 30. Still, when the temperature Th of the worm head exceeds a limit temperature Th2, the control part stops the stirling freezer 30. Therefore, when the temperature Th of the worm head exceeds a limit temperature Th2, the reliability of the refrigerator 1 can be improved comparing with the case where the stirling freezer 30 is instantly stopped.
