PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator, featuring a good handleability by shortening the drawing distance of a shelf to the near side and enabling the height of the shelf to be changed readily.
SOLUTION: The refrigerator comprises a front protrusion 5a and a rear protrusion 5b provided on a side edge part of the shelf 5, capable of being slid along the sidewall of an inner box 2, an upper stage rail front part 6a and an upper stage rail rear part 6b provided at positions on the sidewall, having a same height with a specified gap and respectively supporting the front protrusion 5a and the rear protrusion 5b; a lower stage rail front part 7a and a lower stage rail rear part 7b provided at positions on the sidewall, having a same height bellow the upper stage rail front part 6a and the upper rail rear part 6b with a given gap and respectively supporting the front protrusion 5a and the rear protrusion 5b; a first recess 5c formed between the front protrusion 5a; and the rear protrusion 5b for allowing the upper stage rail front part 6a, to be loosely fitted in and a second recess 6c formed between the upper stage rail front part 6a and the upper stage rail rear part 6b for allowing the rear protrusion 5a to be fitted in loosely. The shelf 5 is drawn to the near side along the sidewall to loosely fit the upper rail front part 6a in the first recess 5c and to loosely fit the rear protrusion 5b in the second recess 6c, so as to enable placement position of the shelf 5 to be changed.
