Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide the regenerating heat exchanger excellent in corrosion resistance and provided with practical resistance to heat shock, by a method wherein a heat transfer element, constituting at least one layer of integrated layer, is made of ceramics having a specified chemical composition and the specified contents of glass phase and crystal phase.
CONSTITUTION: A rotary body includes the heat transfer element integrated layers 2-1, 2-2, 2-3 of a low-temperature layer, a middle-temperature layer and a high-temperature layer. The heat transfer element, constituting at least one layer of the integrated layer, is constituted of ceramic, containing 75wt.% or more of SiO2, 25wt.% or less of Al2O3, and total amount of 1-15% of K2O and/or Na2O while constituted of 50-80wt.% of glass phase and 20-50wt.% of crystal phase and the major ingredient of the crystal phase is quartz and mullite without containing alkali constituents. According to this method, the advantages of the heat transfer element, which are excellent in corrosion resistance and durability while hardly firing, can be obtained.
