Abstract:
PURPOSE:To easily suppress the deterioration of the definition of a reproducing image by providing a Gaussian filter circuit, and a control signal generation circuit which generates a control signal corresponding to the upper and lower levels of a reproducing FM video signal and outputs it to a cosine equalizer circuit. CONSTITUTION:The Gaussian filter circuit 11 is connected to a variable cosine equalizer circuit 9, and the control signal generation circuit 29 which generates the control signal to control the level of the inclination of the chevron characteristic of the variable cosine equalizer circuit 9 with a level signal corresponding to the upper and lower levels of the regenerating FM video signal is connected to the variable cosine equalizer circuit 9. Therefore, the compensation control of the low-pass area of the variable cosing equalizer circuit 9 is performed, and the low-pass area is suppressed when the output level of the reproducing FM video signal is decreased. Thereby, the regenerating FM video signal can be automatically low-pass equalizer-compenstated corresponding to the output level of a reproducing signal from a magnetic tape, which can easily maintain the definition of an image satisfactorily.
