Title:
REGENERATIVE BRAKING DEVICE FOR ELECTRIC AUTOMOBILE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3118988
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obviate the need for a step-up transformer and scale up a device and prevent the cost increase by regenerating electrical energy generated by a winding having a large number of turns and being used for driving at a low speed to a power supply.
CONSTITUTION: When a motor 24 is driven at a high speed, the transistors(Trs) 15-20 of a low-speed driver circuit 37 and a switch 35 are turned off, the Trs 3-8 of a high-speed driver circuit 36 are turned on/off successively, and the currents of three phase are made to flow through windings 25-27 having a small number of turns. When the motor 24 is driven at low speed, the switch 35 is turned on, the Trs 15-20, 3-8 are turned on/off successively, and the currents of three phase are made to flow while being synchronized with windings 25 and 28, 26 and 29, 27 and 30. All of the Trs 3-8 and the Trs 15-20 are turned off and the switch 35 is turned on at the time of regenerative braking. Accordingly, the electrical energy of high voltage generated by the windings having a large number of turns is rectified by diodes 21-23, 32-34 and regenerated to a battery 1 because it is higher than battery voltage.
