Abstract:
The method involves guiding a printing substrate together with a transfer foil in a transfer unit by a transfer gap that is formed by transfer and counter pressure surfaces. A transfer layer is transferred partially to the printing substrate in the transfer gap under an effect of a contact pressure (203). Quantity of measured variables including the contact pressure and a pressure supply (5) is detected in transfer units. A control variable is regulated based on the detected measured variables such that differences of the measured variable detected in the transfer units are counteracted. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a foil transfer device comprising a coating head (2) a lifting surface comprising a rubber blanket.
