PURPOSE: To control the time for hardening by compounding a high water-adsorptivity polymer which is swollen by water absorption with ready mixed cement and energizing the ready mixed cement via reinforcing bars disposed in the cement after placing to release the absorbed moisture and thereby regulating the setting of the ready mixed cement.
CONSTITUTION: A proper volume of water is added and mixed to and with the high water-absorptivity polymer powder 1 of a sodium polyacrylate system, starch- polyacrylic acid system, PVA system, carboxymethylcellulose system, etc., to prepare the high water-absorptivity polymer grains 2 which are swollen by the water absorption. Aggregate 4 and a prescribed ratio of the high water-absorptivity polymer grains 2 are then added and mixed to and with the cement 3. This ready mixed cement is filled up and placed into forms previously disposed with the reinforcing bars and thereafter, several V/cm2 DC voltage is impressed to the reinforcing bars as electrodes. Consequently, the water is released from the high water-absorptivity polymer and the setting is accelerated by the hydration reaction of the cement. The cement is then compacted by applying oscillation thereto. The cement is thereafter rested to allow the aging to progress. The forms are removed and the hardened body of the ready mixed cement is obtd.
