To provide a reinforcement binding machine which draws back a binding wire wound around reinforcements so as to tightly collect the reinforcements, and thereafter twists the binding wire to bind the reinforcements together, wherein the reinforcement binding machine can normally carry out binding wire feeding even if it fails in gripping of the tip of the binding wire and excessively draws back the binding wire in the immediately preceding cycle.
The reinforcement binding machine is comprised of a driving load detecting means in a binding wire cutting step after a binding wire feeding step, and a means for controlling a binding wire feeding stroke in the subsequent binding operation according to a detected driving loading. If the driving loading in the binding wire cutting step is not larger than a cutting determination reference value, a predetermined stroke is added to a normal feeding stroke in the subsequent binding wire feeding, and therefore the tip of the binding wire is fed to a location substantially the same as that in a normal feeding procedure by compensating for the binding wire feeding stroke. In this manner, even if the binding machine fails in gripping of the binding wire due to defective feeding of the binding wire and excessively draws back the binding wire, it can normally carry out the subsequent binding procedure.
