To provide a reinforcing bar bending machine capable of two types of bending, one being bend with rounding and the other being bend with a step on the straight portion, securing rapidness and safety in performance.

Above a rightward and leftward long stand 4 for placing a material 5, there is provided a fulcrum block 6 having a circular arc surface in the longitudinal direction and also serving as a material holder. The fulcrum block 6 can be vertically moved and is mounted on a parallel with the stand 4. A material receiving member 15 which supports the material from the bottom is provided at a position below the top face of the stand and located on one side of the longitudinal direction of the bending machine body 1 with an interval from the stand. A depressing bar 31 located on a parallel with the fulcrum block is lowered like a circular arc from above the material positioned between a place above the material receiving member and the top face of the stand toward a place obliquely below the bending machine proper so that the material is depressed to form the first bend of the material at the corner of the stand. Then the bent material is subjected to the second bend at the depressing section to form a step. On the other side of the bending machine proper there is provided a bending roller 39 which presses the material to the fulcrum block to bend it with rounding and which is mounted on a turning arm 43 on parallel with the fulcrum block turnably.
