Abstract:
Acquired are first characteristics (aPi + jbPi) representative of propagation channels formed between a transmitting station 10 and a primarily used station 14 via relay stations Ri. Acquired are second characteristics (aDi + jbDi) representative of propagation channels formed between the transmitting station 10 and a secondarily used station 16 via relay stations Ri. Prepared is an objective function which includes, as coefficients, aPi, bPi of the first characteristics and aDi, bDi of the second characteristics and includes state parameters SRi representative of the operating states of the relay stations Ri by use of 1 or 0 and the optimum solution of which is a combination of state parameters SRi maximizing the communication capacity between the transmitting station 10 and the secondarily used station 16. Prepared is a constraint which includes, as coefficients, the aPi, bPi, aDi and bDi, includes the state parameters and requires that the level of interference with the primarily used station 14 be equal to or less than a permissible value. A 0-1 integer programming problem constantized by use of the objective function and the constraint is solved by use of a computer, thereby determining an optimum combination.
