Abstract:
To provide release paper base paper which uses wood-free paper produced under ordinary making conditions having a freeness of about 450 ml without extremely lowering the freeness similarly to conventional techniques and has excellent releasability, dimensional stability and curling resistance.
This release paper base paper having a water absorbing degree of ≤2 g/m2, after left at 30°C in a relative humidity of 80% for one hr on the back side and having excellent releasability, dimensional stability and curling resistance is obtained by coating the back side of ordinary wood-free paper with a mixture prepared by mixing a styrene-butadiene-based latex with a mixture comprising a wax emulsion and styrene-acrylic copolymer ammonium salt in an amount of 5 to 20 g/m2. The back side of the release paper base paper can also be printed.
