PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost by simplifying the structure of a relief valve device and to provide a piston valve substitutable for a conventional piston valve.
SOLUTION: A cylinder chamber 5 is disposed on the inner side of a relief inlet 3 opened to a force-feed oil passage 2, and a piston valve 6 accommodated in the cylinder chamber 5 is elastically pressed by an elastic pressure spring 7 to close the relief inlet 3. A relief outlet 8 is opened facing the relief inlet side of the cylinder chamber 5. The piston valve 6 is provided with vent communicating passages 10 for communicating the cylinder chamber 5 with the relief outlet 8, and the piston valve 6 is retreated by prescribed oil pressure in the force-feed oil passage 2 to allow oil in the force-feed oil passage 2 to escape from the relief inlet 3 to the relief outlet 8. Vent communicating grooves 11 are provided recessed on the outer peripheral surface of a closely fitted cylinder part 6b of the piston valve 6 to constitute the vent communicating passages 10. The vent communicating grooves 11 face the relief outlet 8, and the base end part 11a are opened to the inner side end face 6c of the closely fitted cylinder part 6b.
