PURPOSE: To make it possible to transmit much information and to surely send the information to the terminating side by coding the abnormal information of a refrigerator or the like, transmitting the coded information through a telephone line network, and on the terminating side turning on an alarm lamp corresponding to the code.
CONSTITUTION: When the generation of abnormality in a refrigerator 1 is detected by a monitoring and alarm transmitting device 3, the abnormal contents (alarm contents) are converted into a coded signal and the coded signal is sent to the telephone line network 5 as a dual tone moderation frequency(DTMF) signal. An alarm controller 6 interpretes the code signal sent through the network 5, detects the alarm contents expressed by the code and turns on an alarm lamp 7 corresponding to the contents out of plural alarm lamps arranged on the controller 6. The controller 6 drives an alarm buzzer 8 simultaneously with the ON of the lamp 7 and informs a slave set 9 of the generation of the alarm to by means of sound (e.g. whistling sound).
