PURPOSE: To eliminate the need for an exclusive separate power supply for waiting state and to reduce the power consumed in an exclusive separate power supply circuit, by supplying the power in waiting state with a charging type battery.

CONSTITUTION: When a transmission circuit section 13 is operated and a remote control signal for power application is transmitted from a light generating section 12, this reaches a photodetection section 11. Since a reception circuit section 10 is operated with a charging battery, the arrival signal is processed at the circuit 10 to drive a relay 5 and to close contacts of the relay 5. A gate current flows to a triac 4 via a resistor 6 and an AC power voltage inputted from AC power supply input terminals 1a, 11b is applied to a television receiver 7 to operate the set 7, DC of 6 volts is outputted to a power supply output terminal 14 and applied to a battery 9 through a diode 8, allowing the charge the battery 9 and to apply it to the circuit 10.
