PURPOSE: To make the controller to be handled easily by forming the remote controller having a monitor television receiver with a wired control means controlling an electronic device, a radio control means implementing control through an infrared ray and a radio wave, a means detecting the connection and a means stopping part of the function when the connection is detected.

CONSTITUTION: A camcorder 1 is provided with a video camera 2 including an optical lens, an image pickup element and a signal processing circuit, a microphone 3, a VTR 4 and an electronic view finder 5. A video signal from the camera 2 and a sound signal from the microphone 3 are recorded by the VTR 4, a reproduction signal and a video signal therefrom are amplified by a video output circuit 6 and displayed on the finder 5 and given to a terminal 7b, they are amplified by a sound output circuit 8 and the result is fed to a terminal 7c. Moreover, a power supply device 9 supplies power to each section to activate the VTR 1 and also to a terminal 7a and each section of the VTR 1 is controlled with a control signal fed from the terminal 7d and a control signal from an infrared ray receiving element 11.
