Abstract:

To provide a remote controller for a vehicle capable of prolonging a battery life for a portable machine.

The portable machine 12 is provided with a lock switch 21 and an antilock switch 22. When the lock switch 21 and the antilock switch 22 are operated, a transmission signal including a predetermined ID code is transmitted as a first transmission signal. When switching operation is carried out for unlocking a door lock, a transmission signal is transmitted from the portable machine 12 as a second transmission signal for a predetermined time. An output level of the second transmission signal is lowered below that of the first transmission signal. When a receiver 13 receives the transmission signals, ID codes are compared with each other, and the door lock is unlocked on condition that the ID codes match with each other. Consequently, an engine start allowable condition is set.
