This device is a remote meter inspecting device for electricity, gas, water, etc. A meter inspection part 1 consists of a CCD photodetection part 3 which photographs at least the part of a consumption integrating meter 2 where an integral quantity is displayed, an image processing part, and a transmission part; and the CCD photodetection part 3 is fitted in a cover 4 which is fitted to the consumption integrating meter 3 and so formed that a display part 5 can be seen through, and the transmission part transmits at least a video signal obtained by the CCD photodetection part 3 and the identification code of a consumer.
