PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute charging corresponding to user's use of electrical equipment without using a prepaid card, and to suppress the electrical equipment from being illegally used by interrupting radio communication.SOLUTION: There is provided a remote monitoring method in a remote monitoring system including first communication equipment connected to a server device which performs charging processing in accordance with the power supply state of electrical equipment and second communication equipment connected via a radio communication network to the first communication equipment for monitoring the power supply state of the electrical equipment. The second communication equipment is configured to, when detecting that the power supply of the electrical equipment has been changed from an OFF state to an ON state, transmit ON-information indicating the change via the radio communication network to the first communication equipment, and to maintain the power supply of the electrical equipment in the ON state during a period when radio communication with the first communication equipment is continued, and to, when detecting that the radio communication with the first communication equipment has been interrupted, switch the power supply of the electrical equipment from the ON state to the OFF state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
