PURPOSE: To find out the owner of a collected transaction medium by outputting the individual identification information to a remote monitoring device in order to identify the collection of the transaction medium and its owner when the transaction medium of a transactor is collected by an automatic teller machine (ATM).

CONSTITUTION: An ATM 2 stores all card data in its memory 7 with insertion of a card. When a collecting instruction is received from a host computer 1 for the transaction media (cards, cash, etc.) and these media are collected into the ATM 2 or a transactor forgets to take out the transaction media and these media are collected into the ATM 2, the ATM 2 transmits the collection of the media to a remote monitoring device 3 in a telegram together with the individual identification information contained in the card data stored in the memory 7. The device 3 outputs the contents of the telegram to a printer 4. Thus an operation controller can know the owner of the collected transaction medium and can quickly respond to the inquiry of the transactor.
