To provide a remote power source control system and the remote power source control unit for this system for starting a power source supply target equipment at a remote place without preparing any fixed IP address while securing security.
This remote power source control system is provided with a mail client terminal 10 equipped with the transmitting/receiving function of mail including a control command and a remote power source controller 40 connected through the Internet 20 to the mail client terminal 10, and equipped with a transmission/reception function for transmitting/receiving mail to its own mail address destination. This remote power source controller 40 is provided with a mail analyzing function 41b for analyzing mail received to its own mail address destination, and for analyzing a control command included in the mail; a mail analyzing function 41c for analyzing and authenticating a key code included in the mail; and a remote power source control function 42 for controlling power supply to the power source supply object equipment 50. The power source control function 42 controls the ON/OFF of the power source of the power source supply object equipment 50 according to the control command analyzed by the mail analyzing function 41b.
