Abstract:

PURPOSE: To accomplish the title safe removal in high efficiency without the need for using any hazardous treating agent by bringing a chlorine-contg. alkoxysilane into contact with an organometallic compound followed by separation of the resultant metal halide.

CONSTITUTION: An alkoxysilane, containing chlorine, of the formula HnSi(OR)4-n (R is 1-8C organic group; n is 0 - 3) is brought into contact with an organometallic compound (the metal being at least one selected from groups IA, IIA or IIB metals), and the resultant metal halide(s) is(are) separated, thus accomplishing the objective removal. Said organometallic compound is e.g. an organolithium compound, esp. n-butyllithium.
