PURPOSE: To contrive the removal of dielectric foreign matter with accuracy by drawing the dielectric foreign matter from unprocessed substances toward an electrode of an electrostatic generator in order to receive the same adhesively on the adhesive face of adhesive tape traveling between the electrode and the substances being processed.

CONSTITUTION: A series of unprocessed substances 5 such as food having dielectric foreign matter 7 (e.g. hair and small insect) mixed therein is passed under an electrode 1 of an electrostatic generator. The foreign matter 7 is then made to adhere to the adhesive face of adhesive tape 2 traveling between the electrode 1 and the substances 5 being processed. This method permits an easy and accurate capture and removal of the foreign matter while it is traveling toward the electrode, attracted thereby.
