Title:
REMOVAL OF INSOLUBLE SOLID SUBSTANCE IN FORMED PRODUCT OF COAL LIQUEFACTION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5759991
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To remove insoluble substances efficiently, by adding fine powder of ferromagnetic substance to a raw material slurry or a solution of a formed product of coal liqefaction, depositing the insoluble substances in coal on the surfaces of the fine powder, followed by sucking the powder by magnetic action so that the powder is removed.

CONSTITUTION: A raw material slurry consisting of coal powder and a solvent is hydrogenated and liquefied at high temperature under high pressure, to give a liquefied oil of coal. In the operation, fine powder of a ferromagnetic substance (preferable example; Fe2O3, Fe3O4, Ni2O3, FeS) alone or the fine powder and a shaping material for ferromagnetic substances, e.g., iron oxide, sulfur, hydrogen sulfide, etc. are added to the slurry or a formed product of coal hydrogenation and liquefaction, insoluble substances in coal are deposited on the surfaces of the fine powder of the ferromagnetic substance as nuclei, and the insoluble substances deposited on the ferromagnetic substance are sucked and removed by magnetic action. After the insoluble substances are removed by this method, the slurry or the formed product is preferably treated by physical means, e.g., separation through sedimentaion, filtration, etc.
