To improve the work efficiency by covering a sheath pipe on which a member for removing mortar lining is attached on an inner periphery of a tip part on an outer periphery of an existing mortar lining steel pipe pile and lowering it by applying vibration by a vibratory hammer.
A sheath pipe 11 which is made of a steel pipe and has a larger inside diameter than an outside diameter D of a mortar lining 2 is suspended on a hook 9 of a crawler crane through a vibratory hammer 10. A plurality of members for removing mortar lining which consist of angle are attached on inner periphery of a tip part in a lower part of the pipe 11, and a tip of the angle is tapered so that each angle comes into contact with the mortar lining 2 uniformly. When the pipe 11 is fitted from above of an existing steel pipe pile 1 on which the mortar lining 2 is applied and the vibratory hammer 10 is lowered while vibrating it, the mortar lining 2 is removed while it is crushed due to the vibration of the angle. Consequently, it is possible to carry out the construction work efficiently and safely without necessitating a scaffold and a diver.
