The method for fixing the furring strip for the external wall of the building and the method for repairing the external wall of the building using the method are composed in such a way that a core-through hole 3 running through the external facing material of the existing building is provided and a fixing-type bracket 40 or a solid-type bracket 4 is inserted into the core-through hole 3. Furthermore, a mounting part 41 of the bracket is secured on a frame body 1 or an external-facing-material fixing attachment 5 and the bracket has a furring strip 6 fixed on the other end of the mounting part while the furring strip 6 is placed on a furring strip support member 45 of the bracket. Also, a sliding-type bracket whose length itself is adjustable is developed.
