PURPOSE: To obtain the title composition exhibiting excellent repelling effect against dog, cat and birds and having high residual effect, by using powder of herb containing hot spice component and/or powder of herb containing aromatic spice component as active components.

CONSTITUTION: The objective composition contains powder of herb containing hot spice component and/or powder of herb containing aromatic spice component as active components. The hot spice is e.g., pepper, cayenne-pepper, Chinese pepper, mustard, Japanese horseradish, onion, garlic, ginger, turmeric, cinnamon, allspice and cardamom and the aromatic spice is e.g., clove, thyme, peppermint, perilla, sage, laurel, nutmeg, vanilla, fennel and coriander. A synergistic effect can be attained by adding a repelling perfume such as D-limonene or orange oil to the composition.
