To provide a reproduction apparatus which when displays and reproduces an intended data from a file in which plural pieces of multi-media data are archived, starts reproduction without a waiting time which places a burden on a user.
A data retrieval part 101 retrieves time series data from a single file containing at least one piece of time series data. A data expansion part 103 expands the time series data retrieved by the data retrieval part 101, a data acquisition part 104 holds the time series data, and a moving image reproduction part 105 reproduces the time series data. In this case, between the completion of a part of the time series data and the completion of reproduction of the expanded part of the time series data, the data expansion part 103 expands the next part of time series data following the part of time series data being reproduced. Then, the moving image reproduction part 105 continuously reproduces, in time series, the time series data sequentially expanded by the data expansion part 103.
